Dental implants offer a natural-looking and low maintenance solution to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a “root” device, usually made of titanium that is surgically placed below the gums into the jawbone. The implant is carefully and painlessly placed into the jaw where the natural root would have been. It’s then left to actually integrate with the jawbone so they fuse together. Once integrated a crown, bridge or denture can be fixed onto the implant.
Dental implants can be used to:
Replace a single missing tooth
Replace several missing teeth using a bridge
Replace all the teeth using bridges or implant-supported dentures
Are You A Candidate For Dental Implants?
The perfect candidate for an implant is in good oral health and general health. Adequate jaw bone is necessary to support a dental implant, and the ideal candidates have healthy gum tissues free from periodontal disease. We would set up an implant consultation appointment to determine if you are good candidate for implant placement in our office or an oral surgeons office.
